The newest member of our family!

Tug the wonder dog has been such a special addition to our little family. We adopted him from the Kent Animal Shelter at the end of last year. He's almost 3, and has a very fun, playful personality. It's been a little bit of a challenge to train him, but we're almost there. Being a Jack Rusell Terrier, he's prone to run off and hunt small rodents - which is annoying. Over the last 6 months, we've spent our share of time running after him. If he wasn't so cute the neighbors would probably want to kill us by now! He's escaped and found the other dogs in the neighborhood on many occasions. But he's finally obeying well and is settling into our family!

Saying Goodbye to Highlands Christian Elementary

Well, I've worked at Highlands for the last two years teaching second grade and it's time for me to move on. I feel that the Lord is calling me to a new place in life. I'm going to work part-time next year at an elementary school in Kent called Neely O'Brien Elementary. I'll be working in the ELL Department teaching students k-6 how to speak English. There are over 32 languages spoken there! I'm really looking forward to learning how to teach someone English that has never spoken the language before.
Meanwhile, Zack and I are prayerfully considering fostering, or adopting. We've been praying about this for years, and are waiting on the Lord for Him to give us direction as to what to do next. Hopefully with me working part-time, it will free me up to do some more research into adoption and the foster-care system, and we'll become much more educated on the whole thing. Here are some pictures from my two years at Highlands!
